This notice explains what personal information Strevett and Sons Ltd collects, why we collect it, and what we do with it. We have tried to write it in plain English rather than legal language.
Who we are
Strevett and Sons Ltd is the data controller for the information described here. We are a building, interiors and landscaping company registered in England and Wales, company number 16769742, with a registered office at Flat 6, Victoria Court, Hawkins Road, Haywards Heath, RH17 7BY.

What we collect
If you fill in the enquiry form on this website, we collect your name, phone number, email address, postcode, the type of work you are asking about, and anything you write in the message box.
If you contact us by phone, email or social media instead, we keep whatever you send us in the course of that conversation.
If we go on to quote for or carry out work, we will also hold your address, details of the property and the work, photographs of the job, and records of payments. We do not collect card details through this website.
Why we collect it, and our lawful basis

We do not use your details for marketing unless you have asked us to, and we never sell or rent them to anyone.
Photographs of your property
We often photograph finished work. We will always ask before using a photograph of your home on our website or social media, and we will not identify your address. If you agree and later change your mind, tell us and we will take it down.
Who else is involved
A few third parties handle information on our behalf when you use this site:
- Netlify hosts this website and receives enquiry form submissions. Netlify is based in the United States, so your enquiry is stored outside the UK.
- Google Fonts supplies the typefaces used on this site. Loading them means your IP address is sent to Google.
- MyJobQuote supplies the review badge shown in the footer, which loads from their servers.
- Our subcontractors may be given your name, address and job details where they need them to carry out the work.
Cookies
We do not use analytics or advertising cookies on this website. Some of the third-party features listed above may set cookies of their own when their content loads. If we add analytics in future, we will ask for your consent first and update this notice.
How long we keep it
- Enquiries that do not lead to work: up to two years, then deleted.
- Records of completed jobs, quotes and invoices: at least six years, to meet HMRC requirements and to honour guarantees.
- Photographs used with your consent: until you ask us to remove them.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you have the right to ask us for a copy of the information we hold about you, to have it corrected if it is wrong, to have it deleted, to restrict or object to how we use it, and to receive it in a portable format. Where we rely on your consent, you can withdraw it at any time.
Email enquiries@strevettandsons.co.uk and we will respond within one month. There is no charge.
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113. We would rather you came to us first so we can put it right.
Changes to this notice
If we change how we handle personal information, we will update this page and change the date at the top.
